A spokesman for Hawaiian Electric Co. says that while the utility is disappointed the state Public Utilities Commission suspended its "Simply Solar" proposal, the company is glad regulators are willing to consider possibly implementing the on-bill repayment program on an interim basis. The PUC on Tuesday suspended the proposal, for which Hawaiian Electric had sought approval within 60 days, saying the program's costs didn't appear to be "cost-effective to ratepayers, requiring adjustment. "We look forward to working with the commission to address any concerns and hope to make Simply Solar available to our customers as soon as possible," Hawaiian Electric spokesman Darren Pai said in an email statement...
